Tune – Halad (H&P 3, R&S 28)
We’ve been outsiders
Beyond the curtain,
Not like the chosen,
Always uncertain,
No place to rest in,
Needing a haven,
God’s love in Jesus
Gathered us in.
But though God found us,
We still have wandered,
Prey to false shepherds,
We have been scattered,
Frightened and lonely,
No place to lay head,
God’s love in Jesus
Gathered us in.
We have been sent out,
With Christ’s commission,
In Spirit’s power,
To heal and pardon,
We have the promise,
At end of mission,
God’s love in Jesus
Gathers us in.
What e’re befall us,
Upon life’s journey,
God’s peace is with us,
Once made on Calv’ry,
We are united,
In love’s great vict’ry,
God’s love in Jesus,
Will bring us home.
